Triple threat. That’s the term that insiders in the theatre industry use when they are talking about a performer who can sing, dance and act. And do all three brilliantly. Think Hugh Jackman.
Currently three young Novocastrians are putting their talents on the line, and on the stage. Last night South Pacific opened at the Sydney Opera House and in the cast Erin James. Erin’s already been in the cast of the Australasian tour of Cats and the Sydney production of
Love Never Dies. Meanwhile on stage in Brisbane as Bob Gaudio in the hit musical Jersey Boys is Declan Egan. His first role straight out of NIDA! And in rehearsal now as Vivienne in Legally Blonde the musical is Ali Calder. Ali was first seen by Sydney audiences when straight out of school and through a rigorous open audition process Ali scored the role of Thea in STCs Spring Awakening.
So you see Newcastle has a triple threat. A trio of amazingly talented performers – they all sing, dance and act – who are coming to a theatre near you!
