Clothes, cake and cameraderie

What do you do with your unwanted clothes?   Put them into the local charity bins?  Recycle and remodel them?  Sell them at the pre-loved boutique?

What about having friends over for a clothes swap with champagne/tea/coffee and cake!

It was an afternoon that certainly didn’t start out that way.  The “Treasure Hunters” (see previous blog) convened a meeting to re-assess the plunder of the trip to Sydney to see which pieces of clothing could be salvaged by a judicious stitch or two and which should just be disposed of.   However since the Sydney excursion wardrobes had been culled and irresistable sales visited.   The result?    More clothes that needed a home.

At the end of the day after huge amounts of merriment and laughter, lots of trying on and “does my bum look big in this” everyone went home with a piece of clothing that they hadn’t arrived with.

Thank you Elaine for the Melting Moments, Mariette and Rae for the champagne and Susan for the cake!

It was indeed a fun productive afternoon. Have since worn the modified black top and yellow jacket. Still assessing whether to take up my ‘new’ skirts and whether the green pants need more modification.

What a wonderful day – much too short. It was lovely to meet at your home Bronween, thank you very much for your hospitality. A wonderfully warm welcome, nice food and great company. Can’t wait to do it again!
