Italian for “the”

This isn’t as simple as it sounds – there are eight words, or ways to say the in Italian. Here goes – il, la, l’, lo, gli, le and i (am I one short here? better find it) – so ther is a masculine the, a femmine and a collective the, and then there are the plurals.

Word of the night is alzare which means to lift, but in other senses can be used to say ‘I get out of bed’ mi alzo, its are verb which can’t be too hard to conjucate. But message to self – learn English parsing!
